Emily is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with additional qualifications in Craniofacial Surgery.
Emily is passionate about facial palsy management and has established a multidisciplinary team based in Wellington at Hutt Hospital. She is the lead of the facial palsy clinic which combines the expertise of a specialist trained facial physiotherapist, plastic surgery, ENT surgery and ophthalmology. This team offers access to the range of facial palsy treatment including physiotherapy, neuromuscular retraining, chemodenervation, eyelid surgery, selective neurectomy, myectomy, nerve transfers and free muscle transfers. With ophthalmology, Emily performed New Zealand's first corneal neurotization nerve transfer into the eye and is the director of a charity for those living with a visible difference in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
