Caryn Pieters
Caryn Pieters is a New Zealand-based physiotherapist with a strong clinical focus on facial rehabilitation and the treatment of facial palsy. She brings a wealth of international experience and a deep commitment to helping patients regain function, confidence, and quality of life.
Caryn began her physiotherapy career in 1994 after graduating from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has since gone on to complete a postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy, along with numerous post-graduate courses that have given her advanced skills across a wide range of hands-on and evidence-based techniques.
Over the course of her career, Caryn has worked in the USA, UK, and South Africa, developing a broad, global perspective on patient care and rehabilitation. Since relocating to New Zealand in 2021, she has continued her work with a growing interest in facial nerve conditions — applying her experience to support patients with Bell’s Palsy, facial nerve injuries, and other neuromuscular conditions affecting the face.
Caryn combines clinical expertise with a patient-centred approach, working closely with individuals to create tailored rehabilitation programmes that support recovery and restore facial function.
